Toyota Avalon Introduces New Amenities
The 2011 Toyota Avalon has gotten a much needed face-lift complete with an array of new amenities, while still remaining the quiet, comfortable car its customers know and love. Some of those tweaks include a wider grille, high-intensity-discharge headlamps, additional chrome trim and redesigned rocker panels along the flanks, and new wheel designs and LED taillights. See for yourself over at your Salt Lake City Toyota Avalon dealer.
The big changes to the Avalon are on the inside. The paneling is a more fashionable matte finish, along with textured, darker plastics. Leather seats are standard and the Limited edition will get you a ventilation system that blows heated or cooled air through perforations in the upholstery. All seats are flat and thickly padded, and the rear seats even recline (nap time, anyone?). There’s plenty of leg room and plush carpeting to boot. While at 197.6 inches long and with a width of 72.8 inches, the Avalon is a large car, you’d never tell from the way it sounds, or doesn’t sound, we should say. The ride is smooth and road noise is minimal. Even the door unlocks almost silently.
On the technical side of things, personal electronics and cellphones can be plumbed into the sound system in several ways, including Bluetooth, USB port, audio jack and a qualified surgeon’s vascular shunt. One of the few factory options is a DVD-based, voice-activated navigation system with a rear-view camera.
The Avalon uses the same 3.5-liter V-6 (with variable valve timing) and 6-speed automatic transaxle that are installed in a number of Toyota vehicle. Here, the engine is rated at 268 horsepower and is paired with a relatively “tall” final-drive ratio, which ensures low engine speeds while cruising in the overdrive fifth and sixth gears. The E.P.A. rates the Avalon at 20 m.p.g. in the city and 28 m.p.g. on the highway.
The base price for the 2011 Avalon is $33,205 (the Limited is set at $36,445). Stop on by your Salt Lake City Toyota Avalon dealer to take a test drive, or check out any of the current models at your Salt Lake City used cars dealer and let Toyota take you on your most relaxing drive yet.
