Toyota continues modernization of vehicles

Toyota continues modernization of vehicles

Toyota continues to lead the charge in modernizing its vehicles, making them a seamless transition of life from the office and the home to the road.  The company’s latest invention has been named Toyota Touch Life.  Toyota Touch Life is an extension of Toyota’s new Entune system, which is being implemented into several Toyota models this year.

Toyota Touch Life allows drivers to use their personal electronic devices, such as a smartphone or an iTouch, seamlessly with the interface system of their vehicles LCD screen.  Essentially, the Toyota Touch Life technology transposes the screen of your smartphone, for example, onto the display screen in your Toyota and allows you to use the applications on your phone through the vehicle’s computer.

Thanks to Toyota Touch Life, the LCD screen acts just as your smartphone or iTouch would.  This means you utilize the same functions to make the applications on these devices work.  Thus, the LCD screen becomes a touch screen, and sliding your finger across the screen, taping a button and spreading your forefinger and thumb apart all produce the same responses as they would on your smartphone or iTouch.  Additionally, buttons also exist on the steering wheel to maneuver through each devices’ offerings as well.

As is always true with the Toyota vehicles on our Salt Lake City car dealership lot, Toyota has placed safety first in developing its Toyota Touch Life technology.  Thus, Toyota has implemented a graphical user interface (GUI) – which is a fancy term that means drivers can only get to the non-distracting parts of their phone while the car is in drive (read – no Angry Birds while driving down the road).

The vehicles on our Salt Lake City car dealership lot currently utilizing the Toyota Touch Life technology are specifically compatible with Nokia and Apple smartphones.  Of course, this technology is quickly being developed for more Toyota vehicles and more brands of smartphones.

To learn more about this latest development from Toyota, come visit us at Karl Malone Toyota, where the best Salt Lake City cars are sold, and test-drive the Salt Lake City cars of the next generation.
